  • Does Tattooing Hurt?
This is the number one asked question regarding tattooing. The simple answer is yes but generally not as much as people would like you to think. When you start your session your body releases its natural endorphines and this helps. How long this lasts depends from person to person and will define your limit, usually 2-3 hours but some people are lucky enough to make the day session look easy. Remember everyone is different.
  • How do I decide on a design for my Tattoo?
The days of Flash sheets and books are now much behind us. A good tattoo artist will be able to take your idea and turn it into a piece of artwork for your tattoo. But! you will need that initial idea. Asking your tattooist to come up with an idea for your tattoo is quite frustrating. We all have different interests and tastes in life so you need to do some research and put some thought into what artwork you like.
  • How long will my tattoo take?
Every tattoo is different and will be approached in a slightly different manner than another tattoo. Stlye, detail, size, these are all factors which will affect the time taken. Just remeber the golden rule, dont rush, your tattoo will be on your body forever and we are sure you want it to look as good as possible.
  • How much will it cost?
There are two ways to price a tattoo, by the piece or by the session. My session rate starts at £80 per hour and there is a minimum charge of £60. There is a saying in tattooing, 'good tattoos are not cheap and cheap tattoos are not good'. Always take the time to research your artist and look at their work. Find an artist with a portfolio of work that you like.
  • How do I prepare for my tattoo session?
The better you feel the easier your session will be. A good nights sleep always helps, eating before definately helps, its also usually good to bring a sugary drink for during. DO NOT drink alcohol or smoke canabis before, it will not help and your tattooist may not proceed with the session which will cost you your deposit.
  • How long do I leave the cling film on?
Cling film covering should be left on for 1-2 hours. This question has been included because unfortunately some people do not see their new tattoo for what it is, a wound. If you leave the wound open to the elements you could pick up any airborne bacteria and cause irritation or worse an infection. Please see the aftercare page for more details
  • Can I use numbing cream
Simply put Yes you can, but, please remember we cannot guarantee how long it will last. When numbing cream wears off the pain of being tattooed is generally worse than if you didn't use it in the first place. Numbing cream has to be applied an hour or two before your session and when the tattooist starts they have to use alcohol to clean your skin which may take it away. From the artists perspective numbing cream can leave the skin a little puffy, this can make the work a little difficult and why would you want to make life difficult for your tattooist?
